What are the terms and conditions for registering with the platform?

How do I register with a program?
Once you have signed up to the platform, you will have access to the list of affiliators. With a few clicks, you can then apply to register your website with one or more program(s). Within the next 48 hours, you will receive an email confirming that your website has been registered with the required program(s). From then on, you can start to insert links into your website, and then wait for your income to roll in.
Can I register with more than one program?
Of course. The advantage of Effiliation is that it can give you several affiliation programs, all on the same platform. It’s up to you to choose one or more, knowing that the income from the various programs is building up. Registering with several programs often enables you to go even further from the point of view of the added value provided to those visiting your site, by offering them even more services and functions.
Which program(s) should I sign up to?
On the whole, it’s best to choose affiliators in a similar line of business to your own, even if it’s only partially similar. There will already have been an automatic selection of affiliators, as only those that are likely to be of interest to you appear in your affiliate space. How long does it take to be approved?
All the websites that apply to sign up to the platform and then to a program are approved manually (by our staff or by the affiliator). This procedure allows us to have a high quality network, which is of benefit to affiliators and affiliates alike. On the other hand, the approval system can result in a delay of several days. In any case, whether your website is accepted or not, you will be informed by email as soon as possible.
My site is not hosted in France and / or I don’t live in France
No problem! Wherever you are in the world, we can send you your earnings by cheque or bank transfer, at no extra cost.
Can I be registered with other advertising agencies or affiliation programs apart from Effiliation?
Absolutely. It’s up to us to show you that Effiliation is the best option. So you can be registered with an advertising agency, independent affiliation program or another affiliation platform at the same time. However, it’s best not to spread yourself too far, as you risk not reaching the required thresholds for payment. We therefore recommend that you only register with Effiliation, but you are quite free to do otherwise.
How much will my subscription cost?
Nothing! On the contrary, it will pay you. In effect, subscribing to the platform is free. Subscribing to one or more of our affiliator programs is also free. There are no hidden costs. On the other hand, as soon as you have inserted links in your website to one or more affiliators, you can start to reap the rewards. Becoming an affiliate costs you absolutely nothing, but can earn you lots of money...
How do I register a second website?
To register a second site, you have two options.
The first is to use the effi_id. The effi_id is an identifier to distinguish the source of traffic and associated committees: All information on this tool can be found in the toolbox. However, if you use this solution, our advertisers will see that your initial registration site.
We therefore recommend the second solution which is to use our Multisites located in the "your profile".
This will allow you to have a separate management interface per site to be validated for the site that will display the programs: make sure to select the site in question from the dropdown menu located in your affiliate.
Is it possible to be told the reason for any refusal of an application to register with a program?
It may be that your website does not coincide with the subject matter handled by the advertiser, that the program was undergoing maintenance at the time of validation or that the program is subject to certain conditions.
Someone told me about a program and I can’t find it on the platform. Why is that?
It may be that they were talking about a planned program that hadn’t been launched and that it still hasn’t been launched when you sign up. It may also be that it is a hidden program, particularly in the case of lead programs, for quota reasons. If an advertiser wants to restrict the number of leads, in that case we are under an obligation to limit its distribution.
Furthermore, you can find campaigns by using the ‘Rapid access to campaigns’ search engine in the left-hand menu.
I’m a keyworder and I don’t have a website, can I still sign up?
If you want to promote one or more advertisers via purchases of keywords and you don’t have a website, you can register by ticking ‘keyworder’ on the registration form.
Account management
How does Effiliation make money?
Effiliation makes money in much the same way as an affiliate: Effiliation receives a commission on the total amount of money owed by the affiliator to his affiliates. It is therefore in our interest for you to earn as much money as possible: that’s the best possible guarantee as regards the quality of the service we provide.
How much would I be paid?
You will be paid according to the business done on the affiliator’s website by Internet users coming you’re your website. Various types of remuneration co-exist on our platform:
- Payment per click (number of people who have clicked on one of the affiliator’s buttons or banners);
- Payment per lead (form filled in on the affiliator website by an Internet user from the affiliate’s website);
- Payment according to the turnover generated on the affiliator’s website by Internet users coming from the affiliate’s website.
It is common for these various forms of payment to accumulate within the same affiliation program.
When would I be paid?
If, at the end of the month, we owe you more than 75 Euros, you will receive your payment within 60 days of the end of the month of receipt of invoice. The ate is shown in the ‘Your results’ menu, in the ‘Invoice’ tab. Payment is subject to all your affiliators having paid us the amount sowed to you. Otherwise, the amount that you have achieved is carried over to the next month.
How do I find out how much you owe me?
Nothing could be simpler… One you have registered, you have access to your affiliates space. There, you can look up the number of displays, clicks, forms filled in, sales, turnover generated, click rate, rate of inquiries converted into business … a mountain of statistics that are easily accessible, available as a whole or for each program you are registered with.
Alongside this information are listed the corresponding payments. Thus you can see exactly how much each program, and even each link, has brought you. It even allows you to optimise where you position your links so as to give prominence to the ones that your site visitors respond to the best.
Do I have to wait for each program to reach the payment threshold?
No, is the short answer. One of the big advantages of our platform is that you can register easily and quickly with several affiliation programs and combine the rewards. As soon as, at the end of the month, the combined amount owed from your various programs is more than 75euros, we will send you your payment. If that total is not reached, your payment will be carried over to the next month.
How can I be sure that my earnings haven’t been underestimated?
Effiliation acts as a ‘trusted third party’ between the affiliates and the affiliators. Like you, we are paid by our affiliators on the basis of the activity (clicks, purchases…) of Internet users of your affiliated site. The higher your earnings, the more commission we earn. Hence, what would be the point in us underestimating your earnings?
Do I have to be paid by cheque?
No, if you prefer, we can pay you by bank transfer. You choose, when you register, between the two methods. Once you have registered, you can change your preferences at any time from your affiliate space. So that the change to payment by bank transfer can be effected for your next invoice, you must change your profile before the invoice is due. Otherwise, the change will take place for the next invoice.
Do I have to pay VAT?
If you are a private individual, you are not liable for VAT.
If you are a company, you are liable for VAT. You must therefore enter your VAT number and SIRET number in your profile.

Do I have to pay any tax on my earnings?
Yes. In the context of affiliation, you are regarded as an independent worker and that means that you must declare your earnings yourself and pay income tax. For annual earnings below 15,000 Euros, you are not classed as a business and so you do not have to pay VAT on the commission you receive. Above that amount, you are obliged to declare you business to the Trade and Companies Register. If you represent a corporate body, you are obliged to declare your income and pay the tax relating to the commission and also to declare the VAT. The latter will be calculated by taking as a basis excluding tax, the payment shown in your affiliate space.
In addition, as part of the plan to combat fraud and the black market economy, the draft finance law for 2008 proposes extending the right of discovery of government officials to data held and processed by electronic communications operators, access providers, host providers and by online service providers. Thus, the tax authorities will be able to detect and identify regular sellers who have not made a tax declaration and who are achieving turnovers comparable with those of professionals meeting their tax declaration obligations.
Is there a way of segmenting the traffic that is generated?
To distinguish the traffic and orders that are generated, you can install effi_id.
effi_id is a username that you place behind the tracking links.

Why has my commission changed between the last day of one month and the start of the next?
We are in a period of consolidation. Between the 1st and 5th of the following month, the advertisers validate their leads and/or sales generated by affiliates. This period involves setting commissions to zero, which does not mean that you have not generated any commission.
Your commission should reappear within the next few days.
If however you find there is a significant difference after the 10th of the month, do not hesitate to contact us at

Can I send just one invoice if I have more than one affiliate accounts?
No, you must submit separate invoices.
Can I change my personal details at any time?
Yes, in your Affiliate space, in the ‘Your profile’ column. You can change your details at any time and the information regarding your website (addresses, topics, etc.).
I’ve fewer views than clicks, how is that possible?
Some media do not count views (Flash, for example). That’s why there are fewer views than clicks, but that does not affect how much commission you receive.
You may have changed the tracking link, which could explain the difference.
Installing the media
Why do I not have access to all the affiliation programs?
According to the subject matter (s) dealt with on your website, a list of affiliators (from amongst our clients) will appear. Our approach is to simplify the registration process and the method of inserting links by offering a given site to those affiliators whose line of business is similar to that of the site in question, so as to match the right affiliators to the right affiliates.
Can I place several ads on each of my pages?
Of course. It’s up to you to design your website as you think fit. You can therefore insert several ads on each page, even if they are not ads from your affiliators (see above) or even if there are two links to the same affiliator. However, it is strongly recommended that you do not have more than one or two ads because if your visitors feel overwhelmed by advertising when they visit your pages, they’ll go elsewhere!
You can use the rotating banner management system to install a unique tag to rotate several programs.
Am I entitled to click on my own site on to banners of affiliators paying per click?
No, that would be seen as fraud. Our system can pick up on attempts at fraud, and it has already happened that a contract binding us to an affiliate has been cancelled for that reason. So, rather than risk losing everything by trying to earn a few extra euros, work on the quality of your website: it will the attract more visitors, and the financial rewards will follow as a result.
Can I insert links to affiliation programs in an email or newsletter?
Absolutely, you can do that. However, they mustn’t be pay per click links. So you can send pay per lead or pay per sale links.
Do be careful however; you are not allowed to send spam (unsolicited emails) by inserting affiliation program links from our affiliators in an email, on penalty of being excluded from our platform.
As regards buttons or banners, can I copy the graphics file on my website?
Certainly. If not, we can give you an all-inclusive Html code that will enable you to avoid this type of operation. However, if for some reason you want graphics files to be hosted on your server rather than on the Effiliation server, you are at liberty to record the file on your hard drive then send it on you server. Do make sure you include the correct link on your pages!
I have displayed the software on my website but I have received an inactive message.
You have been flagged as inactive because the software that you have installed has not registered any clicks.
Perhaps you could make them a bit more prominent? Perhaps you could try out other formats than the ones you have installed?

How do I insert an XML catalogue?
That will depend on your settings.
It is very difficult to explain, in general terms, how to insert an XML catalogue.

How can I get other software?
For logos, buttons, and other visuals, ask the Account Director looking after the program for information by sending him an email. His clickable name is shown under each program and will direct you to his email address.
What is a Widget?
The word Widget is a contraction of Windows and Gadget.
